My husband and I have been through some very tough times over the last nine years, from it taking three years to sell our house in New Mexico, to my husband being laid off for almost a year, to my being laid off, etc. Needless to say, our financial and credit standings suffered because of these times. We were beat down and treated like “good-for-nothings” because no one would listen to us or understand what we had experienced. This truly affected our self-respect and self-confidence in all aspects of our life. In order to purchase our current home, we were forced into an Adjustable Rate Mortgage at 10% for the first 24 months. It was anybody’s guess what would happen to our interest rate and payments after the first 24 months. We also got ourselves into a 2nd mortgage (HELOC) from a company that did not have the greatest reputation, but we needed to repair and upgrade our home, and decided to commit to this loan, which was also an Adjustable Rate Mortgage. The company that sold us our loan will go unnamed but the subsequent hassles from them was not worth any of our sacrifices, especially when our rate adjusted to 18.65%, and the amounts of our monthly payments fluctuated with each month from $500 – $850.
We heard all of the advertisements on the radio for a different mortgage company, that I will not name, that promised they can help everyone. We figured that if anyone could help us they could. WRONG! We attended one of their seminars to see what options we had to refinance our mortgage. At that seminar, we were assigned a “loan officer,” who came to our home and had us sign mountains of paperwork. From that point on over the next six months our assigned loan officer kept stringing us along, making all sorts of excuses, while saying they were trying to “work something out” for us. Finally, one evening, the loan officer called and told us that even the new FHA program couldn’t help us, and they wouldn’t be able to help us.
During this six-month period, we received phone calls periodically from Brian Bell from American Capital Financial. Brian was persistent. One evening, Brian called, and with little hope and great skepticism, we began the refinancing process with Brian. Brian was thorough and never left any detail to chance. Not only did Brian seek every avenue to help us, he even suggested a credit repair company that we utilized to help clear up some matters that still appeared negatively on our credit reports. He asked us for all of the pertinent information, and moved forward with our process. To date, we have refinanced our first and second mortgage into one fixed rate FHA mortgage, and then refinanced that mortgage, via a no fee FHA streamline mortgage, into an even lower fixed rate mortgage. Because of Brian’s dedication, we are now saving $1,200 a month and will not have to refinance our home ever again
Now, Brian is very modest, and he thinks that all he did was refinance our mortgages for us, but what Brian doesn’t realize is that he gave us our lives back. He was the first person in several years who actually believed in us, and he did everything within his knowledge, professionalism, and power to help us. Brian didn’t judge us, but instead, he worked with us and for us. It’s been a very long time since we have been treated with this kind of respect. Brian was able to give us the second chance that we so desperately had been trying to achieve to get us back on track. Brian is absolutely the best, as far as we are concerned. We trust him implicitly, and we know that if we ever have to do anything related to mortgages, Brian will be the person whom we will contact. I have recommended Brian to anyone who has mentioned that they are thinking about refinancing. By the way, some of these folks have had tough times in their lives, too, but I can say with complete confidence that I know that Brian will try to do whatever he can to help them if at all possible.
We are blessed to have worked with Brian, and the world needs more dedicated people like him. Brian is truly an asset to American Capital Financial!
Respectfully submitted,
